Cindi to Appear at Mopar Mile High Nationals

ALOHA, OR, July 20, 2011 – Cindi Lux will join other Mopar-backed race drivers and celebrities at this weekend’s 32nd Annual Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals in Morrison, CO. One of drag racing’s top events, the Mopar Mile-High Nationals is the center-point of a week full of auto-related activities. Lux, who has been professionally associated with Mopar, Dodge and Chrysler since 2005, has been involved in the event before but, in 2011, has been asked to take an increased role. Cindi will reveal that she’ll be taking part in the massive “Big Block Event” in downtown Golden, CO. on Thursday, 6-10pm (MDT). The Mopar Big Block Event will feature an autograph session with Cindi and Team Mopar drivers from all corners of the motorsports industry - including NHRA legend Allen Johnson. Also included will be a Mopar trivia contest, a Mopar “Personalization Station” and a race and street car exhibit showing the latest Mopar performance parts for road and track. A concert by Grammy-nominated, blues-guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepherd will provide the soundtrack for the evening’s event. SpeedFreaks radio hosts Kenny Sargent and Crash Gladys will emcee.

On the track, Mopar will also stage exhibition runs with special Mopar vehicles driven by celebrity Mopar racers in between the NHRA elimination rounds on Sunday, July 24. Cindi will be cheering-on her Mopar brethren at the drag strip but, being a racer, it might be hard to keep Cindi out of one of these exciting, Mopar vehicles.

Cindi and her car will be on display all weekend long in the Dodge Motorsports Display right next to the Mopar Direct Connection Transporter.

On track activity begins on Friday, July 22 at Bandimere Speedway in Morrison and runs through Sunday, July 24.

Final elimination day at the 32nd Annual Mopar Mile-High Nationals also marks a "mile-high" career milestone for Cindi Lux. Today, prior to the final elimination runs for the NHRA pro classes, Cindi and the Mopar-Lux Performance Dodge Viper Competition Coupe will go head-to-head against drag racing legend and 3-Time Top Fuel Champion racing pioneer Shirley Muldowney. The exhibition race culminates an exciting weekend of Mopar activities and Cindi's introduction to the world of drag racing.
