Updates From the Track
Updates from the track, including photos will be provided after each session. Those will be posted right here.
Fri July 18, 7:45am - Cindi posted a fast lap time of 1:29.705 in her #2 Mopar Comp Coupe. This was good for 19th on the grid of the 24 cars who posted times. There are an additional eight entrants who did not post a time.
Fri July 18, 5:30pm - Cindi improved her track time in the second practice session, clocking in at 1:28.848, good for 14th in the session. 29 cars were on the track, so still a couple cars not ready to race. Qualifying is up first thing in the morning.
Fri July 18, 8:30pm - During the morning practice session Cindi was hit hard from behind, causing considerable damage to the rear and left side of her car. There were ten hours to the next practice session, and all of them were used by Fred and the crew to repair the car, both mechanically, and to put broken body panels back in place with duct tape and rivets. That side of the car now looks like Frankenstein. The repairs allowed Cindi to participate in the afternoon practice session and improve her position in the field from the morning practice.

During the session, Cindi posted a fast lap of 1:27.941, putting her 16th on the grid for tomorrow's race. Her time is less than a second from being a top ten qualifying time, so look for her to make a strong run tomorrow!
Sun July 20, 11:40am - Fred reports that the IRL race started half an hour late so expect Cindi's WCGT race to also start half an hour late. Heavy rain showers passed through the area. The team is making additional setup changes (non-rain related) trying to improve Cindi's car for her.
Sun July 20, 3:00pm - For the standing start Cindi was gridded in 16th position out of 30 cars for the 29-lap race. The first half of the race was caution-filled. During the green flag running she was moving closer to another Top Ten slot. Cindi pitted on lap 16 from 13th position and was forced to retire due to a mechanical issue.
