8/24 8:30am - Cindi got out to a quick start, setting her fast-lap time in the first practice session on her 3rd lap. Scotty's quickest lap was just 0.055 seconds behind her, and came towards the end of the session. Cindi's time of 1:25.585 and Scotty's at 1:25.640 were good for 13th and 14th respectively. There are 23 cars entered in the race.
8/24 3:00pm - The second practice session has been delayed by approximately 15 minutes due to rain showers earlier.
8/24 3:25pm - The second practice session has concluded. For the first five laps, Cindi was in front of Scotty. On lap six, Scotty leap-frogged Cindi, only to have Cindi jump ahead of Scotty one lap later. Cindi's best time was a 1:26.509, which put her 15th for the session. Scotty was again less than 0.1 seconds behind her, but in 17th place with a 1:26.606. Stay tuned for qualifying Saturday morning!
8/24 9:00pm - SCCA has released the combined practice results which show Cindi's pre-qualifying at 14 and Scotty just behind at 15.

8/25 8:45am - Rain in the morning sent Cindi and Scotty out on their rain tires. Protecting the cars was most important, yet both managed very good qualifying positions. Official qualifying results show Scotty in 14th and Cindi in 19th. Both had their fastest times on their 9th and final lap.

8/25 - 4:30pm - This is going to be an excellent race to watch! The race was set to be 50 minutes or 30 laps. But in unconventional style, the race ran completely under a green flag, which brought the checkered after 30 laps. Cindi qualified 19th, but made a late decision to go with dry tires. That meant starting from the back of the pack. On the 1st lap, Scotty gained 3 positions to 11th and Cindi gained 2. By the 4th lap, the sun was out and the track began drying out, a positive for Cindi's decision to change tires. She was ahead of her qualifying position by lap 5. Scotty was able to get back to 11th by 6, but was unable to keep that position as by 10, he was back to 14th. Cindi continued to make up ground on the field, turning lap times of the top 10 cars and gaining one position per lap. Leaders passed Cindi on lap 10, but she still continued turning her fastest lap on her current lap. Cindi was never really pressured from behind for several laps, opening a gap of more than 15 seconds on the next car. Cindi eventually turned times of the top 5 cars. By the half way mark, Cindi was one position behind Scotty by just 3 seconds, and made the pass on him just before the completion of lap 15. By lap 20, she was up to 12th and still hunting for more cars to pass. Another rookie driver tried holding her off but by lap 22 she was up to 11th. Scotty continued to run consistent times, but couldn't keep up the pace on the wet tires and would eventually finish in 15th. The question soon became whether Cindi could break into the top 10 before the checkered flag! She did get to #10, but was passed with two to go and finished 11th.
Interesting footnote to the race. 9th place was the highest finishing Viper. But from there, 10th through 15th had five Vipers in there!
